Wolverines Prepare for 2018

The Peterborough Wolverines Rep football club is preparing for their 8th Ontario Football Conference (OFC) spring/summer season which will begin in May and end in early August of 2018.

The Wolverines are now accepting player registrations for their first try out date which is February 17, 2018 at the Spiplex. Details will be announced for the try out session at a later date.

Players must register prior to the first try out session and can register on line via the Wolverines website or can register in person on the following two Saturday dates, January 13 or 27, 2018 at the Wolverines clubhouse from 11 am – 1 pm. The Wolverines will again be entering three teams, the Bantams (age 12-13-14, born in 2006, 2005, 2004), the Jr. Varsity (age 15-16, born in 2003, 2002) and the Sr. Varsity (age 17-19, born in 2001, 2000, 1999).

The Wolverines are pleased to announce the three head coaches and they are: John Parkes returning as the Sr. Varsity HC, Ken Butcher has decided to return as the Jr. Varsity HC and Christian Vesnaver has been appointed as the Bantam HC. The Wolverines Executive is accepting coaching applications for the position coaches for all three teams until December 16, 2017. Coaches can access an application form on the Wolverines website and submit the completed form to the Wolverines Executive for consideration.

The Wolverines Executive for 2018 are Ken Butcher President, Kevin Morton Vice President, Anthony Berardi Treasurer, Theresa Butcher Secretary, Catherine Chamberlain Volunteer Coordinator and Jerry Peters and Prudence Jordan as Co-General Managers. The three head coaches are also on the executive.

The OFC is looking forward to an exciting 2018 season and have added several new clubs to the OFC family. Joining the OFC are the Oshawa Hawkeyes, the Quinti Skyhawks (Belleville), the Cornwall Wildcats, the Hamilton Hurricanes and the Waterloo Predators. The Dittmer and Ramsay Conference alignments and the 2018 schedules will be determined at the OFC AGM in Toronto on February 2-3, 2018.

The Wolverines are looking forward to again represent the greater Peterborough area and strive to be the OFC Champions in all three divisions. In seven seasons the Wolverines have captured seven conference championships and one OFC championship!
