The Ontario Football Conference (OFC) has announced the Sr. Varsity Conference All Stars for the 2016 OFC season. The Wolverines are pleased that four of their SV players have been named to the Ramsay Conference All Star team. Those Wolverines are Nick Clarkin as a wide receiver, James DuMarnoir on the offensive Line, James Stockwood on the defensive Line and Sidney Parkes as a defensive back. The All Stars were selected to the conference all star teams by the SV head coaches and are recognized for their outstanding regular season play.

Wolverines SV head coach John Parkes made the following comments regarding the Wolverines All Stars: “We are very proud of our players this season and honoured that four of them were recognized by the league as Ramsay Conference All-Stars. This will give us something more to build off as we move forward toward the 2017 season. With all four of these players expected to return in 2017, the program only stands to get stronger”

In addition to the SV All Stars, the OFC also announced the SV players of the week during the 2016 season. Wolverines players receiving player of the week recognition were QB Ryan Astrom in week 3 aganist Sudbury, RB Ryan McNamara in week 4 against Oakville and WC Nick Clarkin in the division semi-finals aganist North Halton.

The Wolverines Football Organization is proud of the Wolverines special award winners and certainly congratulate them in their achievements!

Wolverines Fall to Sudbury

Photo Courtesy Of Brad ClaypoleThe Peterborough Wolverines Sr. Varsity team lost to the Sudbury Gladiators 21-19 in the Ramsay Conference Championship contest on Saturday at the TAS Field. The Gladiators, the number 4 seed going into the playoffs have had an amazing run by upsetting the number 1 seed, Toronto Jr. Argos in the first round and have now won the conference championship in beating the number 2 seed, the Wolverines. The Gladiators will now advance to the OFC Championships this Saturday in Hamiton at McMaster University.

Sr. Varsity Wolverines Advance!

On Saturday the Sr. and Jr. Varsity Wolverines faced the North Halton Crimson Tide teams with the winners having the opportunity to advance to the Ramsay Conference Championships for their respective divisions. The Sr. Varsity Wolverines hosted the Crimson Tide and won 31-28 in a thrilling victory . Unfortunately, the Jr. Varsity Wolverines travelled to North Halton and fell short 30-21, thus ending their OFC season.

2016 WOLVERINES FINAL SEASON RESULTS

On Saturday the Peterborough Wolverines Rep football teams completed their OFC regular seasons with two of the three teams qualifying for the post season playoffs. The Sr. Varsity and Jr. Varsity squads will be moving ahead while the Bantams have now completed their season.

The Sr. Varsity Wolverines were defeated 51-3 by the Burlington Stampeders , who are possibly the best Sr. Varsity team in the OFC. The Wolverines record is 6-2 and they have maintained a second place finish in the Ramsay Conference and will now host the North Halton Crimson Tide, the third place team in the first round of the playoffs. The game will be this Saturday with a 5 pm kickoff at the TAS Field. The Wolverines are looking forward to this game and their participation in the drive to win their conference and go the OFC championship in Hamilton on August 13th. Scoring for the Wolverines was Nick Clarkin with a 15 yard field goal.

2016 Wolverines Week #8 Results

On Saturday the Wolverines Sr. Varsity football team secured second place in the OFC Ramsay Conference Sr. Varsity Division with a 28-0 victory in North Bay against the Nipissing Wild. The Wolverines will finish the OFC regular season when they host the Burlington Stampeders in a 5 pm contest at the TAS Field. The Wolverines with the second place in their conference will host the third place team in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday July 30th at the TAS Field. The opponent and game time will be announced soon.
